An 'Unconference' to network, innovate, and catalyze change

Please take note of updated logistics information at the bottom of this message.

  • Advance environmental innovation in your company
  • Expand your profitability with  greener products, services, and processes
  • Engage employees and customers in sustainability efforts
  • Network with peers to share ideas about leading green practices (Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this page to see an updated list of participants)

Our competitiveness and economic viability depend on addressing vital environmental issues. Yet, many managers and employees lack the cutting edge information they need to incorporate green business initiatives.

We invite you to participate in the Green Innovation in Business Network's Solutions Lab on January 28, 2010 to learn how you can advance environmentally sound practices in your business while saving money and increasing profits. Presented by the Environmental Defense Fund’s Innovation Exchange and Ashoka, the event offers you the opportunity to share solutions with innovative professionals who are making their companies and organizations more sustainable and competitive.

The 2010 Solutions Lab follows successful events in Boston, San Jose, Austin and Washington DC hosted by leading businesses Google, eBay, Microsoft, and 3M.  Participants from these events reported that the events provided them with an invaluable opportunity to network and share ideas with other innovators who are leading sustainability efforts in their companies. For a list of the innovators who attended the 2009 events, please click into the attendee page of the Green Innovation in Business Unconference Wiki.

In order to accelerate networking, learning, and effective change, we use a participatory format enabling you to collaborate with other professionals. Unlike traditional conferences, there will be no formal panels or speeches.

Who should attend?

  • Corporate, non-profit, and public sector employees and managers directly involved in sustainability efforts
  • Academics and consultants creating sustainable tools, forging partnerships and supporting effective models of green business practices

What will you get?

  • New ideas for saving money and making money while helping the environment
  • Practical lessons about what works (and doesn't work) in trying to make a company more sustainable
  • New relationships with partners and colleagues in other businesses as well as non-profits, academics, and government
  • The opportunity to share what you have learned and multiply its value
